Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is an official auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Since 1942, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions. As part of the Rocky Mountain District, our local group has been active since 1987. Our goal is to nurture spiritual growth and maintain Christian fellowship among women within our church, further a love for and help provide for active participation in Christian service, and develop and maintain a greater mission consciousness through Mission Education, Mission Inspiration, and Mission Service.
LWML RMD Pecos Zone Fall Rally will be at Grace Lutheran Church, Hobbs, NM, Saturday, August 22, 2026. It will be a time of fellowship and Bible Study. The Opening will include a Mite Offering and Dedication. The in-gathering will be boxes of pop tarts and pudding cups for the Weekend Hunger Initiative. Registration will be $8.00 and lunch is included. The theme for the rally is: "Faith that can move mountains" based on Matthew 17:20b: For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.
Registration begins at 9a.m., with the Opening at 9:30 a.m. Other events of the morning will include a two-part Bible Study based on our theme verse led by Pastor Thaine Kister with Pastor Thomas Reeder leading the Opening and Closing Devotions. The rally will end by 2 p.m. and is available virtually during and/or after the event at LWML RMD PECOS ZONE. If you would like to come, SHLC ladies are planning to travel together on Friday and share an Airbnb the night before the event. They would love you to come, too!
