The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is an official auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Since 1942, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions. As part of the Rocky Mountain District, our local group has been active since 1987. Our goal is to nurture spiritual growth and maintain Christian fellowship among women within our church, further a love for and help provide for active participation in Christian service, and develop and maintain a greater mission consciousness through Mission Education, Mission Inspiration, and Mission Service.
LWML RMD Pecos Zone Spring Workshop was held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Clovis, NM, April 11, 2026. Five of our members traveled down on Friday night and enjoyed dinner with some members from Immanuel. On Saturday, Pastor Reader of Immanuel Lutheran led the gathered members in a Bible Study based on based on Psalm 100:2 - Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Pastor Reader did an excellent job reminding us that we are not only God's creation, we are His people through word and sacrament. "We cannot give God anything by praise and thanks, for everything else we receive from Him, be it grace, words, works, Gospel, faith, and all things. Moreover, praising and thanking is also the one proper, Christian form of worshiping God" (Plass, What Luther Says, 1545-1546).
